Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

A Kayaking Southwest Florida program will kick off Lee County Parks & Recreation's annual Calusa Blueway monthly series this season. It will be presented by longtime paddlers Mike Devlin and Jay Rose at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 3 at the Wa-Ke Hatchee Recreation Center, 16760 Bass Road, Fort Myers.

Devlin, owner of Paradise Coast Kayak Tours, and Rose, owner of Paddle Sports of Naples, will combine to share their decades of adventures paddling in Southwest Florida and information about the upcoming Paradise Coast Paddling Festival.

"Mike and Jay are two of the most experienced kayakers I know," Calusa Blueway Coordinator Mike Hammond said. "They know everything about kayaking from traditional skills to repairing high-end Kevlar boats. Having these two present together is going to be a lot fun."
