Paddling Tip of the Week

June 11, 2019
Island Reporter, Captiva Current, Sanibel-Captiva Islander

Extreme heat can warp kayak hull materials, so it is important to store your boat away from direct heat sources. Choose a storage location that is well shaded and does not get too hot. You should also ensure that your boat is not left in an area where it could become filled with water during storms or high tides. The weekly paddling tip is provided by the Ocean Tribe Paddlers, which is affiliated with the Sanibel Sea School. For more information, visit oceantribepaddlers.org.
